My Year, 2018

This is my reflection on this year.
It has my best moments, things for next year and overall sum of the year.

Google Ninja

Today we were trying to become a Google Docs Ninja.
I have earned the Black belt.
I found it hard to work the math, but luckily Mrs Parsons reminded me.
I found it easy to complete white belt.

Seeking Help

Today we were learning about seeking help when things go wrong online.
I learnt that how to report cyber bullies, delete or block them.
I found it hard to think of key steps to help people getting bullied trolls.
I found it easy to  pick fonts, backgrounds and images that would suit my slide
Next time I need to think of more suggestions to give people

Netiquette

We were learning about Netiquette. I learnt that etiquette is code for manners, and net is network online, so net and etiquette together means online manners.
I found it easy to choose my character.
I found it hard to think of do and don'ts.
I really enjoyed making my character, and making transparent gradient speech bubbles.
Next time I need to think of different do's and don'ts.

Cyber-smart Messages

We were learning about collaborating with a buddy on the same slide, using comments.
I found it easy to pick a background.
I found it hard to work together and agree on something together.
I really enjoyed working with my buddy, Jorja.
My top tip from doing this work is making sure that you use your time wisely.
Next time I need to change the color of the font.

Katherine Mansfield

I was learning about Katherine Mansfield, for New Zealand Suffrage Day.
I found it easy to pick font colors, and backgrounds.
I found it hard to find a challenge she faced.
I really enjoyed finding out about her.
My top tip from doing this work is to find out about someone you have never heard of.
Next time I need to make my font easy to read.

We were learning about making menus.
I found it easy to write foods and drink down.
I found it hard to think of foods, I kinda lost thought.

What It Means to be a Powerful Learner in Rimu

We were learning being a powerful learner in Rimu.
I found it easy to pick a background.
I found it hard to think of the best ideas because I had so many.
I really enjoyed cropping my image.

Unique Me

For an inquiry project, I had to do a 100 words that describe me, in Google Drawings.
What I found a  challenge was writing a hundred things about me, what I was happy about was that I completed by my deadline.

Avatar

Today I created an avatar of myself.
Using Google Drawings, I used a picture of my face and used the curve tool to shape it.
What was tricky was that using the curving tool to shape my face, what I was happy about was that it turned out how I wanted it to.

The Spy

Over the past 3 weeks I have been researching about Nancy Wake and putting my weeks of research into a Google Slides.

What I enjoyed was, researching on different website to make my work sound exciting.
What was difficult was making the Kahoot because of thinking about the different question.
What I could do next time, is  to make it look more interesting.

How Does A Tiger Moth Fly?

Last year I made a presentation to share with my class, but then we ran out of time.
So I thought I could share it on my blog.
What was challenging was finding how it fly's, but luckily my dad is a pilot.
It was enjoyable to animate my presentation.

Extra For Experts
In class I had to make a Google Drawing on what I wanted to see in the Gisborne area.
What I found tricky was finding out a what I wanted to see in this community.
What was easy was to find the pictures.

Tairawhiti

Here is some work I did in Manakalani.
I learnt how to make a custom gradient background.
I didn't really find anything tricky, but what I enjoyed was just doing a little exercise on our Chromebooks.

Practicing with Google Drawings

Today at digital learning, I learnt how to make images into shapes. 

I loved doing this, I will defiantly do this in the future:)

Draw a Ship

I used Google Drawings to help me draw this ship.

It was easy to make the shapes because they were already on the Drive.
What I found tricky was well I thought it was quite an easy task.
I enjoyed this activity, my ship turned out how I wanted it :)

Profile

My name is Ruby. I was born in Gisborne and lived in the Tairawhiti area. I have a Mum and a Dad one sister one brother, I have a dog called Moose he is a Rhodesian Ridge back. I'm the oldest of my family out of the children.

My favourite sport is Football, I love to read books about adventure and spies. I am a great learner I can self manage, I'm confident, I can preserve and I'm a collaborator. I am grateful for what I have and will focus on giving back to my family and friends.

I'm good at sports, sketching and learning new stuff, I enjoy going into the learning pit, what is challenging me this year is to learn to link my writing. My goal this year is to be a leader in Kapa Haka.

This year I'm looking forward to achieving my goals I set for this year. My personal achievement is to take my team to the Finals in Football. Rosie White inspires me because I want to be a striker in the Football Ferns.
